Once I have them I will measure and draw them up for you. Also - I forgot to ask why you milled the two flats on the threaded end of the air control spindle? Hi Darren , the flats are there so that the washers rotate with the spindle , it stops things coming loose when the spindle is rotated back and forth . Rob Still looking for drawings RE: Coke Forge Build - Dr Stan - 05-05-2015 (05-05-2015, 04:02 AM)Mayhem Wrote:(05-04-2015, 12:48 PM)RobWilson. RE: Coke Forge Build - hermetic - 05-07-2015 Hi Rob, still blown away by your quality of construction, and your toolmaking ability, Can you tell me where you learned your trade? I too love the vices and the stand, and it is amazing how many times you can struggle holding a part that is smaller than usual, I use a "tuned up" handvise in my big vise but they are a far superior solution. We must be getting close to the forge lighting video, I can't wait! I am still sorting 20 years of accumulated junk, in my workshop, but I am making good headway, Bit more concreting (should that be re-concreting, with the right amount of cement this time!) and I will be down to final fitting and decorating. Phil RE: Coke Forge Build - RobWilson - 05-10-2015 Hi Phil , Apologies for the late reply , I did not realized you had post Quote:Can you tell me where you learned your trade? School of life Phil , no formal training , just self educated , I must say the wee vices and the quick change vice jaws are a god send , makes filling /fitting at the bench a dream . Rob RE: Coke Forge Build - RobWilson - 05-10-2015 Hi Lads Well a tad more done , Knocked up the blower mounting bracket this morning This just clips over the bottom rail of the stand , the reason is two fold it allows a degree of float and once the forge is pushed back into the corner motor/fan accesses will be difficult , this way I can just lift the motor/fan assembly out if needed. Motor attached . And in position . Just need a bit pipe work welded up to join the blower to the control valve . Cheers Rob RE: Coke Forge Build - DaveH - 05-10-2015 That's a smart way to connect the motor mounting plate Good photo's Rob DaveH RE: Coke Forge Build - EdK - 05-10-2015 Some really nice welds there Rob. RE: Coke Forge Build - Micktoon - 05-11-2015 Looking nice Rob , I like the motor mount too makes sense to be able to remove it easy to work on it .............as its easy to get off now it will more than likely never go wrong either lol as its always the things that are a nightmare to work on that go wrong as a rule Cheers Mick |
