RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-29-2013 Nope. I have a 40-X (std barrel) and a 40-XB (heavy barrel). Both are rimfires. For ME to be able to shoot 1/2 MOA, I need to move to the other section of my sight carrying case.... RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Mayhem - 01-29-2013 OK - what is 1/2 MOA? With a scope like that Willie, I'm wondering if you moonlight as a proctologist RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-29-2013 Darren, MOA = Minute of Angle. (Technically, minute of arc.) A google search will explain it much better than I can. In most discussions here in the states, MOA is roughly described as a spread of 1 inch per every 100 yards distance. So if all your shots hit inside a 1 inch diameter circle at 100 yards that = 1 MOA. If they all fall within a half-inch diameter circle at 100 yards, that would equal 1/2 MOA. 2 inches @ 200 yards = 1 MOA 1 inch @ 200 yards = 1/2 MOA 3 inches @ 300 yards = 1 MOA etc., etc. Clear as mud? RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Mayhem - 01-29-2013 Thanks Willie - that makes sense. I'm guessing depleted uranium rounds would help bring your MOA down RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-29-2013 (01-29-2013, 09:11 AM)Mayhem Wrote: With a scope like that Willie, I'm wondering if you moonlight as a proctologist Nope. That's the other scope... [attachment=4362] RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 01-29-2013 With a scope like that Willie, you could just about be your own proctologist. RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-29-2013 Nah. Actually, I have a very good proctologist. He's really the only doctor I see eye-to-eye with, you know? This pic gives it a better sense of scale. It's an old relic now, but it was state-of-the-art back in the day. But I like the nostalgia. Kind of like re-living the days of the old Stevens Favorite, eh? RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 01-30-2013 Nostalgia is good. RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 02-20-2013 So........ how's that high pressure pump set-up coming along? RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 02-20-2013 Yeah, it's on hold Willie. Gotta work on a paying job for a while. Tom |
