RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-28-2013 Outstanding work once again Tom. The sight looks great! What size aperture did you go with? RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 01-28-2013 Thanks Willie. I started out with a .032" aperture which is probably too small, but I won't know for sure until the front sight is made. I figure it's a lot easier to make it larger than make it smaller. Tom RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-28-2013 Wow. You're a lot younger than I thought! Did you make the whole thing from scratch or were some parts purchased? Ed RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 01-28-2013 Willie: Yuk yuk yuk. Ed: I purchased a box of 1-72 screws to use for the for the windage adjustment because I didn't want to deal with cutting a 1-72 thread 5/8" long, other than that, all of the parts were made from scratch. I used to be able to use a .040" aperture, but those days are long gone. Now I need all the help I can get. RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - EdK - 01-28-2013 Willie, Is that thing used on the lathe or the mill. Ed RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 01-28-2013 Nice micrometer sight Willie, what do you use it on? RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Highpower - 01-28-2013 I have a few .22 rimfire target rifles, but it usually finds it's way onto this one. Rem 40-XB RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - TomG - 01-29-2013 Nice looking rifle Willie, is it a .308? I'm sure the rifle is capable of 1/2 MOA, are you? Tom |
