RE: Checking My Nuts - EdK - 07-25-2015 I'm now the proud owner of one good nut. On to the next. Ed [attachment=11448] RE: Checking My Nuts - DaveH - 07-25-2015 Nice! DaveH RE: Checking My Nuts - PixMan - 07-25-2015 Acme & metric trapezoidal threads can be the trickiest to do because of the included angle being 1/2 that of a standard 60º thread. When making them I find that there's a VERY fine line between "the gauge doesn't quite go though the nut" and "clink clink" looseness. Usually, that difference is nothing more than that last "spring pass." Good job Ed! RE: Checking My Nuts - EdK - 07-25-2015 I now have a good set of nuts, just like all men should have. That's definitely the key to a good fit. Ed RE: Checking My Nuts - EdK - 07-25-2015 Next I need to make the holder for my nuts but first I'm going to work on this. The holder can wait until tomorrow. Ed [attachment=11450] RE: Checking My Nuts - doubleboost - 07-25-2015 Very nice job I love internal left hand threads of the ACME type John RE: Checking My Nuts - Roadracer_Al - 07-25-2015 That's a well-earned frosty malt beverage. RE: Checking My Nuts - EdK - 07-26-2015 I guess I'm not going to start on the nut holder today. I could have sworn I had the material I needed but alas, two sweeps through the shop looking for it turned up empty so I'll have to order some. Oh well, I can work on getting the mill back together so I can mill the nut holder and I also need to mill the scallops in the nut with the flange.
