RE: Kaleidoscope - TomG - 10-24-2012 Nice job Bill. What is the purpose of the locking knob on the barrel near the eyepiece? I recently discovered the joys of naturally finished wood when making grips for my .45 out of Kingwood. That has a lot more oil in it than cherry and maple so I'm surprised you were able to get such a nice finish. Tom RE: Kaleidoscope - Bill Gruby - 10-24-2012 Tom, That knob locks one mirror in place. There are 3. It is used to make the image show more or less facets. I can close to 18 facets (segments) or open to just 4 facets. "Billy G" RE: Kaleidoscope - krv3000 - 10-24-2012 ooo nice RE: Kaleidoscope - Micktoon - 10-25-2012 Top Quality job Bill , a good item to make from wood, I have never seen one in wood before but its a work of art as well as nice object. Your wife must have been well pleased. Cheers Mick RE: Kaleidoscope - Bill Gruby - 10-28-2012 We have decided that this will be the next Kaleidpscope. This one has weight driven optics. "Billy G" RE: Kaleidoscope - Mayhem - 10-28-2012 We expect a full build thread Bill. Outstanding work on the first one by the way. RE: Kaleidoscope - EdK - 10-28-2012 Oooh, . "Billy G" RE: Kaleidoscope - Bill Gruby - 10-30-2012 The first print is never right. A lot of changes and this looks final. On to the barrel and optics.
