Maybe next summer? I've had it a year and it's the first machine I've owned that hasn't endeared itself to me. There's just no love there...Sadno

I have a planer that overlaps, maybe exceeds what a shaper can do, so things are kind of redundant. The shaper is a 100 year old Lutter & Gies, a 16" model that I've posted pics of here before. Good condition. Looking for $500 and it's sitting on a really rough concrete floor. Rolled it in on 3/4" pipes after a forklift set it in the doorway. The forklift rental was $200 and if they bring the right one this time, we can probably avoid the pipe rollers.

We'll see. Maybe once it figures out that I'm about to kick it to the curb it'll act nicer to me. Rotfl

Thanks for asking!

There's no proof you bought it, actually could be just a tall tale like a Sasquatch sighting unless we see pictures

Hey we still have no proof of ownership without a photo.
BUT I'd let you off the hook if you'd measure the motor pulley for me, mine had a 3 inch but the 1 1/2 inch I put on it made a big difference in the noise, almost quiet now.

Greg, Surprised to see this old post. Lol,,, anyway, I did post pics here of my amature restoration in ?? "Other machines" back quite awhile ago.
Hang on,, i'll run and measure that drive pulley,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Ok,,, my motor pulley measures 2 inch. That's what was on mine when i found it anyway, and it seems to work fine.
Belt up to the vari-speed, then the drive on the shaper measures 8 inch.
(Found out after mine is a "Porter Cable" pre 1941, before Logan bought the machine division from them. Basicly the same machine from what i can see.

THANKS, will give a 2 inch one a try, didn't have one in stock, the 1 1/2 is slipping when I put a good load on it, the 2 inch will probably make a big difference.
