RE: Can a vise be too big? - EdK - 09-07-2012 John, I think you can make it work. As long as you can bolt it down and not lose too much travel on the table then it should be usable. Bigger is usually better than smaller, at least that's what I've been told by the fairer sex. Did I just say that? I like my 6 inch and it easily holds the 3 inch screwless vise for small projects as well as my small 1 inch screwless vise. ED it's not how big or small your "vise" is but how you use it.
