RE: bandsaw refurb - krv3000 - 07-14-2012 hi all hear is sum pics of the blade guides that i have made up for this band saw i have a lode of Bering's which are 5mm wide with a 4mm hole and are 12mm in diameter i made up sum silver steel rings to go over them to make the diameter to 16mm right pics RE: bandsaw refurb - Bill Gruby - 07-14-2012 Nice and neat. "Billy G" RE: bandsaw refurb - doubleboost - 07-14-2012 Nice job Bob I do like to see screw head slots in line Good idea on the bearings (use what you have to hand) John RE: bandsaw refurb - krv3000 - 07-17-2012 hi all just a update i will post pics tomorrow as the camera is flat the new belt landed today so that got fitted i gnaw no what the original blade guides look like i will post a pic of them to. i made up two for the won't of a beater word the bung that fits in to the top of the table where the blade runs its the first time that i have machined tufnol the dust gets all over the place i had a test run of the saw and all is ok RE: bandsaw refurb - DaveH - 07-17-2012 Bob, You are certainly busy Nice job DaveH RE: bandsaw refurb - stevec - 07-18-2012 Nice work, just wondering though, I believe the guides for the sides of the blades on both of my saws areeccentric, so that they can be rotated into close contact with the blade. Torrington eccentric cam followers will have designation letters ending in "E" for eccentric stud. RE: bandsaw refurb - krv3000 - 07-18-2012 hi well i have slotted the holes so that this can be dun. the original ones the bottom one is a steel roller that the blade runs on and the top one that's the on in red is a nylon roller you will see when i post the pics if you look at pic 6 on page 1 you will see a brass bering and a ball bering the brass one is wher the blade suport shud be and the ballbering one is wher the blade frunt gide shud be you will get a beter understanding from the pics will see haw it runs the way i have dun it it will not tack me long to mack up the original type RE: bandsaw refurb - stevec - 07-18-2012 Bob, I see (now) the slots.
