I'm a firm believer in Loc-tite 609 sleeve retainer. If it's good enough to hold bearing races in jet engines, it will hold a couple of sockets just fine. Smile
Incredible strength to it.

You could always practice your filing skills. Wouldn't take long in aluminium.
