I doubt I could buy 1080 steel stock for much less than that and there's waste in stamping them out. How will you get the serrations, contoured shape like that and the heat treating done for a price anywhere near that? 1080 steel is what a lot of good files and "knife steels" are made of, high carbon may not bend well unless heated.
