RE: Adapter Plate D1-4 ER25 Collet Chuck Pt. 2 - DaveH - 05-02-2012 tlfamm Well I got mine in South Africa which is not much use to you Here is one place nearer home http://metalworking.mscdirect.com/CGI/MWSRCH?ns=1&scrNtt=cAMLOCK+PIN+D1-4&x=15&y=11&Ntk=Keyword+Search Google D1-4 camlock studs/pins should give some more They are available metric or imperial thread Dave RE: Adapter Plate D1-4 ER25 Collet Chuck Pt. 2 - tlfamm - 05-02-2012 I haven't researched this exhaustively, but for my D1-5 spindle (6 pins) the cheapest known source of pins is to purchase an entire back plate from Shars, and either use the plate as is, or cannibalize its pins for a special shop-built plate: D1-5 6" backplate $63.95 (US) http://www.shars.com/products/view/979/Lathe_Chuck_Adapter_Plate_6quot_D15 D1-3 6" backplate $58.00 (US) http://www.shars.com/products/view/977/Lathe_Chuck_Adapter_Plate_6quot_D13 RE: Adapter Plate D1-4 ER25 Collet Chuck Pt. 2 - DaveH - 05-02-2012 Hi, That's what I had to do, buy a D1-4 adapter plate. No one here in SA sells the pins separate. I could have purchased them from the UK or the US but by the time I had paid for the postage there wasn't much difference in the cost. Dave RE: Adapter Plate D1-4 ER25 Collet Chuck Pt. 2 - doubleboost - 05-03-2012 Very nice clean machining Well documented If i get my new lathe i will need some D13 back plates John RE: Adapter Plate D1-4 ER25 Collet Chuck Pt. 2 - Dave J - 05-09-2012 Nice job Dave, and good to see you take the camera out in the shed, I have the back plate but need to make one myself. Dave RE: Adapter Plate D1-4 ER25 Collet Chuck Pt. 2 - tlfamm - 05-25-2012 Source for individual D1 mount pins. At the D1-5 level and above (at least), the cost of a full set (versus scavenging a set from an import adapter plate) is prohibitive. (prices in US $) D1-3 stud: $12.32 D1-4 stud: $10.80 D1-5 stud: $24.00 http://www.macit.com/commerce/index.php?cPath=11 See page 13: http://www.macit.com/MacItCatalog.pdf |
