RE: Small garden cart - Roadracer_Al - 09-18-2015 Good lookin' wheels ya got there, Dave. I put some never-flat wheels on a table saw. It moves like a wheelbarrow, much more convenient than the crap little castors. They get flat spots, sadly. I need to move the axle up a bit so the wheels don't bear any weight when not in use. RE: Small garden cart - DaveH - 09-18-2015 I decided to go with 1.25" x 1/8" angle (30x3mm) Here is a prelim sketch, it was going well until a wheel fell off [attachment=11837] DaveH RE: Small garden cart - DaveH - 09-18-2015 Also I've changed my mind regarding the steering - going with a 'friction plate' steering and not the 'pedal car' steering as shown. DaveH RE: Small garden cart - Vinny - 09-18-2015 How's that gonna work out with a missing wheel? RE: Small garden cart - RobWilson - 09-19-2015 I like your CAD model Dave , what ya using ? Hi Rob, it was called Alibre taken over by Geomagic and now called Cubify Design. DaveH RE: Small garden cart - RobWilson - 09-20-2015 Cheers Dave It looks a good CAD program ,very popular . Don't use it much because I didn't like win 8.1. I thought win 10 would be better, .......... didn't like it. So back to win 7 and I have started to use it. What does this have to do with this Small Garden Cart? ................ well all the drawings both the 3d and 2d drawings I saved to a memory stick. Now I can't find the memory stick So I've given that up and redrawn it all. So I'll post a pic with the friction plate steering - just have to tidy it up a little. DaveH RE: Small garden cart - DaveH - 10-31-2015 Meanwhile making the front and rear axles. 32 x 2mm thick square tube and weld in the 'stub axle' [attachment=12044] DaveH |
