Ed RE: How much oil? - Dr Stan - 05-30-2015 Yep, that's an extremely dangerous machine and should only be operated by those of us with multiple hours on them. Send me your address & I'll be there shortly to rescue you from the risk. (you're right I'm jealous). RE: How much oil? - dallen - 05-30-2015 that's a Cincinnati pretty much same as the one I have, except mine they called a heavy duty. RE: How much oil? - Scruffy - 06-10-2015 The only reason the shop is clean is because everything is jammed to one end. Had to do that to get this lathe moved in. The shaper is a 16 in cinn back geared , similar to dal lens. RE: How much oil? - Vinny - 06-10-2015 Yeah we gave ya some ribbin.. But I was really disappointed that noone ever answered your question. RE: How much oil? - stevec - 06-11-2015 The headstock appears to have 2 sight glasses in it, that probably means they are for 2 separate chambers (?), anyway, I would suggest you fill the chambers to halfway up the sight glasses. As for what kind of oil I would suggest a 20 or 30 wt. non detergent oil (detergent oil may free up contamination presently harmlessly stuck to the the walls/bottom of the castings). There Vinny, how's that for a stab at an answer? Steve |
