RE: Shaper rings - vtsteam - 12-13-2014 I've used hole saws on the mill. You can clamp the ring then. Stopping frequently and clearing chips is a pain, but I hadn't tried 350ca's clearance hole before -- that might make it easier. Lots of ways to skin a cat. RE: Shaper rings - EdK - 12-13-2014 That term even confuses Mr Google. Ed RE: Shaper rings - DaveH - 12-28-2014 Anyone found out what a shaper ring is ? DaveH RE: Shaper rings - schor - 12-28-2014 A wood spindle shaper/moulder uses rings of different sizes for different cutters which are set into the table. Much like a router table has inserts for different sized router bits. I ground a trepanning tool to cut the ID's of these. I still have another 5 more rings to go. RE: Shaper rings - DaveH - 12-28-2014 Thanks Steve. it's always nice to know. DaveH |
