RE: Weird part - PixMan - 05-04-2014 Very nice work, kcraig514! Thanks for taking the time to work out posting photos. Was the pocketing on the second part all done manually on that Bridgeport-like machine? RE: Weird part - EdK - 05-04-2014 That looks like a complex part to machine. Nice job. Ed RE: Weird part - TomG - 05-04-2014 Looks good, thanks for posting the pics. Tom RE: Weird part - krv3000 - 05-04-2014 brill RE: Weird part - kcraig514 - 05-04-2014 Yeah, it was all on a manual mill, I'm too old school, not smart like those CNC guys! I know these are really "project" parts, but since they were a little more intricate than the usual "square it, drill it, tap it" parts, I would post them. Thanks for the compliments! RE: Weird part - stevec - 05-05-2014 Good work for sure but, I'm still curious as to what it's for? I guess I was fortunate enough to work in a shop where I could ask what it was for in order to suggest a possibly better (easier) way. RE: Weird part - kcraig514 - 05-05-2014 We can ask and find out if we have a need to. I did find out the t-slot in the first part was for some sort of adjustment to slide in. We do get to see the machine while it's being built and during run off. We get to see what parts we made working in the machine, which is pretty cool. |
