I can vouch for this. I use mine all of the time. Ed RE: Need a project - ironman - 04-30-2014 Okey guys, here are some pictures for you I really dont have a clue what all of these are used for..well, not entirly true, because i know some of these are steels for the lathe, but i dont know exactly how and what purpose they are made for. The bits inside the boxes are basically the same as the two smaller ones on the left side, just different sizes: RE: Need a project - ironman - 04-30-2014 Wait... i have more Also found this in a yet unopened box, guess it belongs to the lathe, but i can sure use it on the mill too (there was so much tools at the old mans house i forgot to bring home all the boxes from my storage, and found an extra box today). Dont want to brag, but i payed $160! for all this, including the lathe, mill, drillpress, sheetmetal cutter, flypresses etc etc.. Can someone tell me what this is?? Cutting tools for the mill? What are these for? For woodmilling? RE: Need a project - DaveH - 05-01-2014 Marius, one pic at a time. Pic 1, left hand side is a 'roughing end mill' on a Morse taper (3?) with a draw bar. Right hand side is an 'end mill' on a Morse taper (3?) with a draw bar. Pic 2, look end two 'slot mills' or some call 'center cutting end mills' used mainly for cutting slots. Pic3, as Pic 2, look like 'slot mills' The end mills are sometimes referred to as 2 flute, 3flute or 4flute and whether they are center cutting or not. DaveH RE: Need a project - DaveH - 05-01-2014 Marius, I think some of the items you may know what they are, so pick a pic with an item you are not sure of and we will do our best to explain what it is and what it is used for. DaveH RE: Need a project - Mayhem - 05-01-2014 One item (or set) per pic would be extremely useful. The items set you query as being for 'wood milling' appears to be a very nice counterboring set. You select a pilot to fit a hole and then a cutter to suit the size of the hole you want to cut. A common application would be to counterbore for a socket head cap screw to sit flush with the surface. http://www.arceurotrade.co.uk/Catalogue/Cutting-Tools/Counterbores RE: Need a project - ironman - 05-02-2014 (05-01-2014, 08:30 AM)DaveH Wrote: Marius, Thanks Dave, i will do. I`ll try to do one picture at the time. Okey, so they are not for wood, but will work on steel? That would be very nice. RE: Need a project - ironman - 05-02-2014 Okey, lets start with this picture: Number them 1,2,3 from left. RE: Need a project - EdK - 05-02-2014 Number 1 is a center drill. If it's a 60 degree center drill then it's typically used to drill the 60 degree tapered hole which allows you to turn parts between centers on your lathe using lathe centers. Number 2 is an end mill used to mill stock. Number 3 is Ed |
