Don't think you made out too bad? The Albrecht chuck alone is $360 new.
The cast iron plates aren't surface plates, they are lapping plates.

Ed they go to Boot sales for the same reason people here go to Flea markets with no intention of buying fleas, and I scoured garage sales looking for a two car one but had no luck.
