RE: Let's See Your Lathe - ironman - 04-28-2014 Here is my Emco Maximat V 10-P Some of the tools that i got with it RE: Let's See Your Lathe - TomG - 04-28-2014 So this is like a Unimat on steroids? The first machining job I ever held was using a Maximat, so I know them well. It was unique to me because I had never seen a machine with metric dials. It looks like you got a nice selection of tooling with it. Tom RE: Let's See Your Lathe - johnnyc14 - 04-29-2014 I have been lurking here without posting much. Here is my CanTek branded 14 X 40 lathe. I bought it from a fellow who owns a furniture manufacturing business. It was caked in oil, sawdust and the spray-on contact cement they use to glue upholstery foam in place. After many hours of cleaning it looks much better, sorry I ddn't take any "before" pictures. I am a rookie hobby machinist so I'm learing lots from the rest of you guys here. RE: Let's See Your Lathe - Mayhem - 04-29-2014 Nice looking lathe. Don't worry about lurking or being a rookie - we all learn from each others contributions. I'm only a novice as well, so anything you post is going to be of some interest. RE: Let's See Your Lathe - EdK - 04-29-2014 John, That lathe was obviously made by the same manufacturer that made my lathe. Everything to the right of the headstock looks identical to my lathe. Ed [attachment=8214] RE: Let's See Your Lathe - johnnyc14 - 04-29-2014 Thanks Mayhem! EdK, it looks like your lathe is a new and improved version with a fully enclosed quick-change gear box and oil bath in the carriage. I have to give all those parts a squirt of oil each time I use may lathe. I own a Millermatic 180 mig welder too LOL. John RE: Let's See Your Lathe - Dan Boy - 01-25-2015 Here's mine. Hoping for some help with this one. RE: Let's See Your Lathe - tekfab - 01-25-2015 Fine looking machine there Dan, a lot of potential. Mike RE: Let's See Your Lathe - TomG - 01-25-2015 The first thing would be to move her indoors! It looks a lot like a 1940's South Bend. Who is the manufacturer? Tom RE: Let's See Your Lathe - Dan Boy - 01-25-2015 It's Edgwick. |
