RE: New Log Splitter - stevec - 04-03-2015 Nah Greg, I haven't gotten around to making a four or 6 way wedge, the diameters of the wood I process vary too much and the switch out of the wedge can become a bit of a hassle. I do a LOT of smaller dia. stuff. Some times I stack 2 for a 4 piece output with one stroke. I think you spelled "wright" rong. Steve RE: New Log Splitter - RobWilson - 09-10-2015 Hi Steve Just wondering in these photos ( the three below ) showing your welds , did you take the photos before or after the slag was removed ? Also was the cutter blunt when you machined this part ? just the finish looks a bit on the poor side . I mean ruff looking . Kind regards Rob RE: New Log Splitter - stevec - 09-10-2015 Rob, am I supposed to REMOVE the slag? Doesn't it just fall off shortly after painting? Steve RE: New Log Splitter - RobWilson - 09-10-2015 I suppose painting over your welds dose hide a multitude of sins. Rob RE: New Log Splitter - stevec - 09-10-2015 Yes it DOES, until it falls off with the slag. Steve |
