RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 06-02-2013 I hear you O scribes , I have been pushing on in between other jobs. The dial posts are fitted to the front plate. [attachment=5417] The dial feet are dropped into the holes in the posts. And the hour wheel is raised with a spacer so it is just above the level of the dial feet. [attachment=5418] A small amount of epoxy is put on the dial feet, and the dial is aligned with the hour wheel and frame. [attachment=5419] With a pair of hands it might just look like a clock. Brian RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 06-02-2013 Back on test. [attachment=5420] Looking good. Brian. RE: Minimal Clockmaking - EdK - 06-02-2013 Yup, definitely starting to look like a clock now. Keep up the good work. I love the pictures. Ed RE: Minimal Clockmaking - DaveH - 06-03-2013 That's great, DaveH RE: Minimal Clockmaking - TomG - 06-03-2013 It's nice to be able to peek through the dial and spy on all the inner workings. Great job Brian! Tom RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 06-06-2013 Getting down the work load now the hands are half way made, the minute hand has to have a 3.5mm square hole to match the end of the pipe. [attachment=5440] Fileing the pipe square. [attachment=5441] Slowly slowly Brian RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 06-06-2013 (06-03-2013, 03:51 PM)TomG Wrote: It's nice to be able to peek through the dial and spy on all the inner workings. Also saves on build time Tom, I can pull the works out without removing the dial, for sizing the pipes and fitting the hands this is a big plus. Brian. RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 06-08-2013 Its a clock at last, only the strike on the hour and the drive weight to do. [attachment=5447] Time for a beer Brian. RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 06-10-2013 Next Mill a slot in the end of a piece of unknown steel bar, [attachment=5468] [attachment=5469] Blue it, and add a pulley. [attachment=5470] And we have the drive line tensioner. More Beer Brian. RE: Minimal Clockmaking - DaveH - 06-10-2013 Magic stuff DaveH |
