Leaving about a 1/4" . Then start cutting up to the line and roll the part in the direction of the arrow wile cutting. Like so. I moved back to the start of the shear for the photo ,handle was in the way . Easy That done the intake and motor mounts were bored on the lathe. I saw one of those bench shears somewhere, homemade, made with a file ground into a cutter. I can't remember where. I thought maybe I'd like to try that some day.
