RE: Home Shop Made Tools - EdK - 09-13-2015 I made these step blocks based on Tom's thread. http://www.metalworkingfun.com/showthread.php?tid=846 They're very handy and I use them all of the time. Right now i started on a set a paralels or my new mill vice, once im done with them i may start this project . I like the thumb knob design w/ the added touch . There's not a lot of pressure on the knob since it's just used to keep the leafs from flopping around when using them and when on the shelf. Ed RE: Home Shop Made Tools - EdK - 09-14-2015 I made this spin indexer tailstock for my, well, spin indexer. It was a fun project. http://www.metalworkingfun.com/thread-2212.html The first picture is not of my spin indexer tail stock but of the original designers version. It showed me what it should look like when I got mine done. I made a few changes to the design when I made mine. On the spin indexer tailstock what is the function of the big knob? thanks again nice work .. lots of new ideas Ed thanks yes i fig you pinned Bolt to knob but i was referring to the knob outside and inner diam looks like a press fit or thats cosmetic? The knobs for the step blocks are made of one piece of brass. Maybe that decorative circle on the top is fooling you into thinking it's a two-piece part. I put that in with a 'V' shaped tool bit just for decoration.
