It has a detent but does it kick out when it reaches the back of the stroke? A splitter valve has a pressure sensing circuit on the detent to release the valve when the pressure starts to build.

Hi Greg, yes it does, it is adjustable and it is set at 2000 psi at the moment.

Hi Greg,
Got me thinking here, I'm assuming it kicks out - I explained to them what I wanted it to do. I think I will phone them tomorrow and ask just to make sure.

Dave 2000psi sounds like the relief valve. The kick out on return should be low maybe 2 or 300 psi, some are adjustable.

I think you are right the 2000 psi is the relief valve.
I'll have to check with them.

Hi Greg, the kick out pressure is 180/200 psi, it is adjustable but only by the 'factory'. So I cannot adjust it.
I learn a bit more about hydraulics every day Thumbsup

You should be good to go then. The one on my splitter isn't adjustable either, but I used an adjustable one on the feeder I made for the wood chipper. I can set the pressure so it will kick out if I get the feed rate too high and jam things.

I haven't yet looked into mine as to the adjustability (?) of the "kickoff". I have noticed that until I've been working it for a while it kicks off as soon as I release the handle.
Prolly due to the less than precise building on my part. Blush

I'm not sure( suction "thingy" )and the banana ( Smiley-dancenana )
are family appropriate in the same sentence.DroolRotflRotflRotflRotfl
