RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 05-22-2013 I think I had better move on before this gets out of hand? The next stage in the erection. Brian RE: Minimal Clockmaking - dallen - 05-24-2013 the uneven color in the parts make them look even more hand made, the chemicals don't really cost that much to do Niter Bluing 9 parts KNO3 and 1 part Manganese Dioxide melted together and boil the parts at high heat for a few minutes is all it takes and its reuseable. I'm sure you know that you could lay the parts on a heavier piece of iron and heat from the bottom to even the heat out. Any hint as to when the writeup on this will be ready????????? DA RE: Minimal Clockmaking - Brian - 05-24-2013 Oh if only I knew when, other things just seem to get in the way, I hope to get it ticking this week end, but that's only half way to a complete clock! Also the photo's masses of them, notes for the final write up, drawings ETC. Any way here is another photo, of the finished Main arbor/winding assembly.
