RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Brian - 01-22-2016 Thanks Lad's, I think I have found my way out of it ,so expect work to resume shortly, as soon as I recover from falling down the stairs. Only a few bruises and a bit shook up so OK. Brian. RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Roadracer_Al - 01-22-2016 That's no good! A fall like that can change your life. I advise against it. :) RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - DaveH - 01-23-2016 Sorry to hear that Brian, hope you are on your way to a full recovery. DaveH RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Mayhem - 01-23-2016 Stay safe Brian - a zimmer frame can be a future project build but only after this one is finished! RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Brian - 01-23-2016 On the other hand this could be the power unit for a zimmer Brian RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Brian - 02-07-2016 All OK now. I am back to what seems normal to me. The head now has inserts fitted. and valve seats cut. work on this head will continue leaving the others untill I have it finished correctly. complete with the cam, the damaged head will be used to prove the set up's. This is another of my awful video's I lost some of the captions on this one in the down load, oh well keep trying. Brian. RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - TomG - 02-07-2016 Hi Brian, I fixed the link for you, so it is displaying properly, but I do see that some of the captions are cut off on the bottom. Check your original video to make sure that didn't happen in the editing. Tom RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Brian - 02-07-2016 Hi Tom Thanks for fixing the Video. the captions where lost when i exported the video to the format for downloading to Youtube I must be sizing the photos incorrectly and the automatic resizing chops of the bottom. I am sure I will get the hang of it eventually. Thanks again for the back up Brian. RE: 5 Cylinder Radial - Brian - 02-14-2016 As the material was square I decided to machine the inside first while it was simple to hold it in the 4 jaw. Next came the end plate, now looking at the bar I wondered if it was possible to turn the spigot on the end and part off the piece, Now the bar was 12 1/2" long and my lathe is a 12x7 but it went between the small 4 jaw and the centre just dandy. Next the part was milled to size, But as I had to raise the head to clear the rotary table and boring head I now had to lift my small vise to reach the cutter. Now the real work can begin. Well we all have our funny day's don't we. [attachment=12716] [attachment=12717] [attachment=12718] [attachment=12719] [attachment=12720] Onward & upward Brian.
