RE: Billy G's Die Filer - DaveH - 03-12-2015 On the crank (sheet 8) there is a .5" diameter pin. If this pin is positioned to give a 2" vertical stroke, then the distance from the outside of the pin to the center of the crank is 1.25". The out side of the pin will 'scribe' a 2.5" diameter circle. The yoke (sheet 9) shows an area "Mill out this area" 2.125" x .5" the length needs to be increased to at least 2.5" to accommodate when the pin is at 3'o clock and 9'o clock. DaveH RE: Billy G's Die Filer - DaveH - 03-12-2015 Also I have a question on the Yoke Shafts (sheet 10) there is a long and short shaft, on each there is a .125" diameter thru hole - What are these holes for? DaveH RE: Billy G's Die Filer - Bill Gruby - 03-12-2015 To tighten them Dave. They should be checked often. You could use two flats if you wanted to. This is why I like to build it then do the prints. "Billy G" RE: Billy G's Die Filer - Bill Gruby - 03-12-2015 Dave; This should show how the Trunnions and Rails go together. I have completed these now as they are mounted to the Side Rails. That piece of Aluminum behind them came today, ten days early. "Billy G" RE: Billy G's Die Filer - EdK - 03-12-2015 I'm way behind you guys and probably won't be able to get to the corrections to the drawings until this coming weekend. I did change the .170" holes to .257" so I have accomplished something. One gent came along and said he had no Mill so match drilling was not an easy task. Wrong -- I showed him how. I Match Drilled the sides to the back in my 25 year old Drill Press. Just took a little ingenuity and time. Drilled and tapped all ten holes in less than an hour. "Billy G" RE: Billy G's Die Filer - Bill Gruby - 03-14-2015 The local Tech. School rough cut the Table for me. They left me .030 to clean up. Finish dimension will be 14 x 14 inches. "Billy G" RE: Billy G's Die Filer - Mayhem - 03-14-2015 Now I'm starting to get the picture RE: Billy G's Die Filer - EdK - 03-14-2015 Ed |
