RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - Brian - 02-04-2015 Made the mixture controls today and started on the outer end plate. [attachment=9990] Not quite so cold today.-- Brian, RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - DaveH - 02-04-2015 A really nice job you're doing Brian, in spite of the cold. DaveH RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - dallen - 02-04-2015 had a first Sargent one time when stationed in Alaska that used to like to tell us when it was about 40 below zero that cold was just a figment of our imagination. I know this, I can put on enough layers to stay warm, I can't take enough of them off to stay cool. DA RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - mike-sid - 02-04-2015 Brian, you are doing a fabulous job! I love the way it is coming out and is truly inspirational to me. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Where did you find one that small? Tom RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - Hawkeye - 02-09-2015 If you're planning earrings, you'll have to order the platinum ones. Really sweet engine. RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - Brian - 02-10-2015 Hi Dave-- Tom and Mike. thanks for your comments. Tom the plug is a Rimfire made in the USA I think . came from MiniMag in the UK. It's the long reach version, so its a little on the large size. And Dave you can keep your beady eyes of my dads Slocome mic he bought it just after WW1 and it's been in use ever since I have the original box and paper work. Brian. RE: 32x40 H Gas Engine - Brian - 02-13-2015 Continuing with the fiddly jobs, the two oil collection cups where made and fitted one for the big end and one for the cylinder. [attachment=10039] [attachment=10040] [attachment=10041] Further work has been done on the cooling of the head that had to wait until I knew where various components needed to be fitted. Awaiting ignition and gas valve components. it's all getting a bit tense now we are near the getting it running. [attachment=10042] I won't have any finger nails left at this rate. Brian. |
