That is the problem, the pictures are posted to a site that is blocked by my government internet connection here. :sigh: I guess I will have to wait until November. GSM internet dongle? I'm not getting the Hamilton patent Images, that is, unless the butt and frame of the gun is made from bent rod or tube, in which case I do get them but I don't get the attraction. Best Regards Rick RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - SnailPowered - 08-21-2012 The butt and frame of the gun are indeed bent rode or tube. I like the simplicity of it. It definitely makes me think of "end of the world" type gun which is really cool to me. They have another that is more complicated and Weapons Guild members compiled a lot of information on it. I will see if I can retrieve that stuff as well. I mostly posted those for the barrel machine. Just figured that since I was posting the one I might as well post the other. Elijah No, it's a full satellite system that comes in like 5 hard cases with wheels and weighs entirely too much. It isn't great but the fact that I have this much internet while sitting in my tent is super nice! RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Rickabilly - 08-22-2012 Ahh, so you're not stateside at the moment? I have a Cousin that just came home a month ago. It was nice to still have him on FB while he was there. If you are OS and can't say, at least know that you've got a lot of support on this Forum. Regards Rick RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - SnailPowered - 08-22-2012 I don't think there is any problem with me saying I'm stuck in the EXTREMELY dusty Afghan Southlands I appreciate the support!! RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - pamrick - 08-23-2012 Snail is on the Bomb Squad. I think the technical term is EOD. So every night when you say thanks, say an extra for him and all the other service men and women out there. Ed RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - SnailPowered - 08-23-2012 Welcome Pamrick!! Pamrick and I have gotten to know each other pretty well from Weapons Guild. Glad to see you here! I guess the weather is still too nice to be working inside huh? ;) I look forward to seeing this finished!! I have never thought of using a form tool for repetitive shapes. My question is though, in the picture it looks like the form shape is larger than half and "passes" the centre point and would be kinda rubbing as the work rotated "up" not cutting as it were on the "down" side? Or is that just perspective? Phillip, The tool does indeed extend past center. I do it that way because it's easier to grind and set up the tool. To keep it from rubbing on the backside, I just cheat it off center a couple of thousandths. Doing it this way leaves a nice, clean radius without the tit at the center you would get with the tool on dead center. Tom RE: Building The Steven's Favorite - Rickabilly - 09-01-2012 It also doesn't hurt that as the tool goes past centre the radius on the other side of centre turns back toward the chuck, curving well away from the tool.
