RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 12-13-2016 Will do Tom. Thanks for the tip. Ed RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 01-08-2017 I tackled the slot today which has a couple of tight tolerance dimensions. I'm happy to say I didn't screw it up. Ed [attachment=14090] RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - wawoodman - 01-08-2017 That's always a good feeling! RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 01-10-2017 Got the holes drilled and counter-bored. I even got the counter-bores on the correct side of the part. Next is to get rid of those corners and cut some angles. Ed [attachment=14106] RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - TomG - 01-10-2017 That's the fun part, making it pretty. Tom RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - EdK - 01-14-2017 Sweet success at last. Ed [attachment=14108] [attachment=14109] RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - Old Minger - 01-14-2017 May I be the first to congratulate you, awesome job! John RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - TomG - 01-14-2017 Looks great Ed! I can't tell from the pic, but be sure the knurls are slightly chamfered before trying it out. Otherwise, they may dig into the work. Now that I think of it, those knurls are not chamfered and are actually meant for my cut knurling tool project I may tackle some day. I might have grabbed the wrong knurls Anyway, what TPI knurls do you use the most? The ones I've got on the tool are pretty fine so, since I'm doing a McMaster order, I think I'll get some properly chamfered knurls. Ed EDIT: those knurls were not meant for my cut knurling tool project. I got them from McMaster for this project. Now I'm wondering about a source for the beveled edge knurls. They seem to be as scarce as hen's teeth. RE: Clamp Knurling Tool - wawoodman - 01-14-2017 Darn you, Ed, now I have to finish mine. |
